Each year NZ's National School of Pharmacy inducts new students with the White Coat Ceremony, providing a formal transition from being a student in Health Science First Year to entering the first professional year of the Pharmacy programme.
The new students will be addressed this year by guest speaker, Angela Harwood, a University of Otago Pharmacy Alumni. Angela enjoyed her time studying at the University of Otago and continued on to an intern position at Hillpark Care Chemist, Auckland.
In 2012 Angela joined the team at the Midland Community Pharmacy Group (MidCPG) Hamilton, as Clinical Project Manager of the Medicines Management Service and played a key-role in receiving the Innovation in Pharmacy Practice within Primary Care and the Supreme Award.
Angela currently works at the Wellsouth Primary Health Network as Clinical Pharmacist Facilitator and emphasizes how much she enjoys this position. “I love my job!!! There is so much diversity and I love working alongside other health professionals as well as having one on one time with patients.”
The White Coat Ceremony will be held on Saturday, 27 February 2016 at 10 am, at the Hunter Centre, Dunedin.
