File server access
Your confocal data files are temporarily stored on our server. To access them you'll need to log in and move them to your own computer. You will need the password provided when you registered your project.
The file server is a transition zone to allow you to move your files to another location. It is not a permanent storage area.
Your data is valuable so please take steps to move it off the server and make multiple backups of it. We are unable to assist if your data is lost.
For MacOS
- Go to the address
ruska2.otago.ac.nz
or use the IP address139.80.40.174
- Enter the login name and password provided when you registered your project
- Locate your folder containing your files and move them to your computer
For Windows
- Right click the My Computer icon, usually on the Desktop, and choose Map Network Drive from the menu
- Choose a drive letter, something like Z is fine, just not A, B, C, or D as these are likely already being used by your local PC
- Enter this address exactly as written:
\\139.80.40.174\Confocal User Files
- Choose the connect as different user option and enter the username and password
- Enter the login name and password provided when you registered the project
- Locate your folder containing your files and move them to your computer
