The Rural Postgraduate Programme provides a range of educational activities suitable for CME for generalist doctors working in rural general practice and/or rural hospitals.
Papers offered by the Rural Postgraduate Programme
All the papers offered are specifically designed for doctors already working rurally. The papers can be done as part of the postgraduate qualifications or as a one off CME activity. The level of involvement varies from doing all the papers formally to doing any number of individual papers (even just one) to only attending the residentials of some of papers as CME. The papers are delivered through online learning activities, teleconferences and one 3 to 6 days residential. Up to date (handpicked) literature that are specifically relevant to the rural context are provided as background reading.
All the papers qualify for MOPS credits as well as satisfying the requirement for clinical attachment in base hospital (for Rural Hospital Fellows) under the RNZCGP CPD programme.
All the papers also satisfy the GPEP2 academic requirements for GP registrars.
Papers are listed on the Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Clinical Practice qualification page:

Rural CME Webinars
This is a new initiative in conjunction with the Division of Rural Hospital Medicine to make relevant CME more accessible to rural doctors. To begin with we aim to deliver four webinars a year via Zoom. Prior registration is required. The sessions are free and the webinars will be recorded for future viewing. Organised by Rural Doctors for Rural Doctors.
The Rural CME Webinars have been endorsed by The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) and has been approved for up to 1 CMEcredit per webinar for the General Practice Educational Programme (GPEP) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) purposes.
