A newly-renovated studio apartment in Ravensbourne, with harbour views and high quality furnishings, is available for short-term rental to visiting academics.

'The Library' is a large space (>50 sq m) with a rich wood-lined interior and leadlight features. Along one wall we will soon have a large floor-to-ceiling mahogany bookcase with a ladder. There is a Queen sized bed with pillow-top mattress and a down duvet. Artisanal copper sinks feature in the bathroom (which also has a shower and toilet), and the kitchenette (which also has a microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster and tea and coffee making facilites; note: no stove or oven). The front window overlooks the harbour. The apartment was once a large brick garage but was fully converted with high spec insulation and wood panelling in late 2022. There is a heatpump / air conditioner to keep you comfortable, leather couches, and antique dining table.

The property is in Ravenbourne, high enough up for great views and peace and quiet. It takes only a few minutes to drive from there to campus - or about 45 minutes to walk. The Signal Hill walking / biking tracks can be accessed from Rimu St just a few minutes' walk away. There is also a cycleway along the harbour that goes between Port Chalmers and town / university - you just have to be fit enough to puff up the hill (~5-10 min) on your way home!

Price is $150 per night or $400 per week. Please contact for availability. We prefer short-term bookings of between 3 days and 3 weeks. Although the AirBnB ad does not list a washing machine or dryer, we are happy for visitors to access our laundry.
