Otago Professor Elizabeth L Rose has been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of International Business (AIB).

The number of Fellows is limited to less than 2% of the academy's membership aged younger than 65.

The AIB says that the Fellows are a select group of distinguished members recognized for their outstanding contributions to scholarly development in the field of international business, or for their significant contribution to the academy.

Professor Rose says she is “so very honoured to have been recognised in this way by a group of people whose research I respect so deeply.”

She is the only elected Academy of International Business Fellow in New Zealand, and one of two affiliated with an Australasian university.

Professor Rose holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Princeton University and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, a Master of Arts in Statistics and a PhD in Business Administration, all from the University of Michigan.

She is on the Executive Committee of the Academy of Management's International Management Division, and has served on the AIB's Executive Board. She is also the founding chair of the AIB's Australia and New Zealand Chapter, and past-president of the Australia and New Zealand International Business Academy.
