University of Otago Pacific Peoples' Entrance Scholarships
Standard value of $14,000 for first-year Pacific students over two years. For exceptional candidates, this scholarship can be awarded at a higher value, and for up to three years.
Applications generally open 1 July and close 15 August.
University of Otago Study Grants for Pacific Island Students
NZD$3,000 for Pacific students progressing to their fourth year of study.
Applications are open year-round and close on 1 November for study commencing the following year.
University of Otago Pacific Island Master's Scholarship
NZD$16,000 plus tuition fees for indigenous Pacific students to undertake a research master’s degree.
Applicants can apply at any time.
University of Otago Pacific Island Doctoral Scholarship
NZD$30,696 per annum plus tuition fees for three years for indigenous Pacific students to undertake a PhD.
Applicants can apply at any time.
Also open to international students.
Division of Humanities Pacific Island Bridging Scholarships
NZD$10,000 plus tuition fees for indigenous Pacific students with a bachelor’s degree intending to proceed to their first year of taught postgraduate study in Humanities.
Applications are open year-round and close on 3 November for study commencing the following year.
School of Biomedical Pacific Peoples’ Postgraduate Scholarship
NZD$7,500 tuition fee waiver for one Pacific Islands student to study full-time for a BSc Hons, BBiomedSci Hons, PGDipSci or first- year MSc within the BMS.
Applications close 15 February.
The Newick and Springford Scholarship
NZD$10,000 to support students, particularly of Māori and Pasifika descent, studying Medicine or Dentistry in their third, fourth or fifth year who show aptitude and financial need during their studies.
Applications close 1 March.

NZD$7,000 minimum towards accommodation in a University Flat.
Applications open in mid October.
