Gain practical experience in research science
Hands-On at Otago is a programme intended to give students practical experience in research and university life. This kind of opportunity is usually only available to graduate students.
The Hands-On at Otago fully funded Pacific Scholarships are awarded to 10 students each year and are intended to inspire and motivate our young people who have a passion for the sciences and wish to develop their knowledge and skills alongside other like-minded students.
About the Hands-On at Otago Pacific scholarship
The University of Otago, in conjunction with the Pacific Islands Centre, offers the Pacific Islands Hands-On at Otago scholarships.
Benefits of the scholarship include:
- A fully-funded scholarship that provides a wonderful opportunity for 5 Pacific students, entering Year 12 or 13 to participate in the programme
- Travel to the University in Dunedin, at the beginning of the year, to experience a week of serious fun!
- A fully residential experience. Full board is provided at one of the residential colleges near the University
