In 2015 the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology teamed up with the National Poisons Centre to develop an interactive session for parents with preschoolers. Designed to highlight some of the issues of toxic chemicals in the home the session introduces parents and educators to a range of toxic compounds in a range of hands-on activities. We'll talk you through what you need to worry about in terms of chemicals in your cupboards, what happens if you need to ring the National Poisons Centre and a few practical steps you can take to help keep your children safe. We have run this session with:
- Plunket Groups
- Daycares
- Play Groups
Sessions last for around an hour and are free for groups in the Dunedin area. Sessions outside this area may be able to be arranged depending on location and availability.
Please contact the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology for more information or to book.
