Overview
A Bachelor of Science with Honours enables you to gain employment in research or obtain entry into the doctoral programme.
This degree consists of both papers and a research project (dissertation). The research project is carried out in one of the research laboratories within the department. Duration of this degree is one year, full-time.
Information for new applicants
Entrance to the Honours programme occurs after you have obtained a BSc. Due to the challenging nature of this degree, the required grade average is set at B+ (75–79%) across your four best PHAL 300-level papers.
The Honours programme application form should be submitted via eVision.
Programme requirements
- PHAL 490 Dissertation (60 points, full year)
- PHAL 421 General Pharmacology and Toxicology (20 points, semester 1)
Two of:
- PHAL 423 Neuropharmacology (20 points, full year)
- PHAL 428 Current Research Literature in Toxicology (20 points, full year)
- PHAL 430 Advanced Topic in Pharmacology and Toxicology (20 points, each semester)
- PHAL 431 Special Project (20 points, each semester)
