Research interests
Zach received his doctorate from the University of Melbourne in 2009. He did postdoctoral work at the University of Sydney and the University of Melbourne, before coming to Otago in 2012. His research is on philosophical logic, with a focus on paradoxes and non-classical logic.
He is the author of Paradoxes and Inconsistent Mathematics (2021) and Paraconsistency in Mathematics (2022) both from Cambridge University Press. He has won multiple grants, including from the Royal Society of New Zealand and the Australian Research Council, and in 2022 he accepted an award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
He served as associate editor for the journal Analysis and is Secretary General for the Australasian Association of Logic.
