Prospective Students
Physics postgraduate students at Otago share in the excitement of doing original research of international significance. We offer a diverse choice of research topics within the areas supported by six departmental research themes.
Students join a research group of their choice, and enjoy a supportive environment with an active researcher as their supervisor.
The length and intensity of the research project increases with the status of the Postgraduate degree, but all students gain transferable skills which improve employment opportunities. In addition to advanced technical skills, students develop their abilities in critical thinking, project planning, analysis of research literature, and presentation.
The Department has an active and collegial community of graduate students.
