Physiotherapists' perceptions and experiences of assessment of pain sensitivity in musculoskeletal practice settings: A qualitative study
The study aims to explore Physiotherapists' perceptions and experiences of pain sensitivity in clinical practice.
Participating in the study
You may be able to participate if:
You can participate if you are a New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist, hold an annual practising certificate, and routinely assess and treat patients with MSK pain.
If you are eligible to participate:
We invite you to participate in an interview exploring your views on the assessment of pain sensitivity in clinical practice. The interview will last up to 60 minutes and can be arranged in person or via Zoom during a day and time convenient to you.

How would the study contribute to improving clinical practice?
The findings will help acknowledge varying perspectives of pain sensitivity, identify current practice patterns and gaps, and identify the factors that influence pain sensitivity testing. They may also inform the design and content of educational resources and training programmes to improve physiotherapists' capacity to assess pain sensitivity in clinical practice.
