Overview
The Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences with Honours (BBiomedSc(Hons)) in Functional Human Biology is a 400-level Honours year is a 120-point programme comprising a Research Thesis (literature review, research presentation, final thesis worth a total of 85 per cent of the course) and Course Work worth 15 per cent of the final mark.
Entry into Honours is by invitation from the Dean of the Otago School of Biomedical Sciences. Entry requires completion of the requirements for the three-year BBiomedSc degree with an average grade of at least B+ for the four prescribed 300-level papers. The third year must also comprise a total of 7 papers (126 points) and as well as the four prescribed 300-level papers for the major, the other three must include at least one other paper at 300-level and the other two must be at 200-level or above.
Successful completion of the BBiomedSc(Hons) enables you to apply for direct entry into the PhD programme.
