Overview
This is a broad research theme with often quite a few projects available for the right student/postdoc. I can also accommodate keen students with their own area of interest within this theme.
Most of my work is either conducting randomised controlled trials or systematic reviews and meta analsyes. I also have some experience with and can support students in topics that include qualitative research, dietary assessment, and use of national data sets.
Current areas of research include:
- Food processing on whole grains and T2 diabetes management
- Ultra-processed food intakes
- Healthy grocery delivery in usual care for adults recovering from an acute coronary event
- Red and processed meat reduction for health and planetary benefits
- Understanding behavioural change towards healthy diets
- Weight loss for those with T2 and obesity who wish to lose weight
- Legume and pulse intakes in human health
- Refined grain intake and human health
- Metabolite markers of dietary intakes
- Potato intakes and human health
- Dietary fibre
- Carbohydrate quantity and quality in diabetes management
