Postgraduate Study in General Practice
Who can study with us?
We can admit general practitioners who are registered for practice with either the New Zealand Medical Council or the Australian Medical Council. If this does not apply to you, you may still be eligible to study with us.
Contact the postgraduate administrator to find out if you are eligible to enrol for postgraduate study in the department.

Postgraduate qualifications
Honours, Master’s, PhDs, and other advanced degrees for graduates. Just one additional year of study will earn you a valuable postgraduate degree. Or perhaps you want the depth of a full year of research-only time during a Master’s or to step up to a PhD.
Postgraduate Diploma in General Practice (PGDipGP)
A one-year full-time (or longer part-time) diploma that provides a sound understanding of the nature and practice of general practice
Master of General Practice (MGP)
A research-based advanced degree for practising GPs, usually completed part-time over two years, and available through Distance Learning.
