“I chose to pursue postgraduate study to improve my qualifications for future work overseas.
“Not having done University-based study before and knowing I needed a B average in the papers to be accepted into the Masters programme made for a nervous start. But the level of support given by the academic staff, the library and the wider University was a lot more than I expected, which helped allay my fears.
“Trying to study while working and managing a family required good time management. I found it difficult to study much at night after working all day so I did most of my study in the weekends. Seminars held each semester were great to catch up with other students and tutors and I didn't feel isolated at all.”
