Hayleigh completed a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours (BMedSc(Hons)) in the Department in 2015 under the supervision of Dr Ben Wheeler and Dr Nikki Kerruish.
Their project involved interviewing parents that had opted out of the intramuscular vitamin K injection for their newborn with the hope that this would allow information given to expectant parents to be tailored to address common concerns or misconceptions.
This work resulted in two published papers - one in the New Zealand Journal of Medicine and another in the Journal of Medical Ethics.
Hayleigh is now working on completing her Bachelor of Medicine (MBChB) and will graduate at the end of 2018.
