Laura Fraser
Law and Politics
Laura Fraser opted for a double degree in Law and Politics, which she completed in 2008. Like any first year she was a bit apprehensive but she quickly found LAW101 lectures and the stimulating tutorials interesting and challenging.
During her studies, Laura clerked in the Natural Resources Team at Crown Law, and in the Litigation Team at Russell McVeagh.
On graduating from Otago she worked as a clerk at the Supreme Court.
While at Otago, Laura was part of the Faculty of Law mooting team and won the junior mooting competition in 2005 and the senior mooting competition in 2006.
During her final year, Laura's honours dissertation was judged as the winner of the Legal Research Foundation Unpublished Student Paper Award for 2008.
Laura was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship (one of 11 from the Faculty of Law Rhodes Scholars in recent years), which enabled her to study at Oxford University, where she studied for the BCL and for an MSc in Comparative Social Policy.

Laura is now working in the litigation team at Chapman Tripp, Auckland.
