Located in the reception area at Unipol Recreation, our outdoor rental options are available for your enjoyment all year round. We don't take bookings for our equipment (exception University mid year and semester break), so please come down and see us.
Students must present a current valid Otago tertiary ID card at time of hire. Public hires are available at twice the listed student rate.
By renting any equipment from Unipol Recreation, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions specified in the Acceptance of Responsibility Statement.

Snow Shed 2024 - Now closed
Spend less time waiting in lines and more time hitting the slopes by taking the stress out of the gear hiring process and paying a fraction of the cost. Our staff are trained to fit you with the gear that will best suit your size and skill level, leaving you to get straight up that mountain without any hassle.
Skis, ski boots, snowboards and snowboard boots require fitting by our staff during snow shed hours, all other gear can be rented during Unipol opening hours.
Snow shed hours:
- 4.00pm–7.00pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- 12.00–7.00pm Friday

We allow half a day either side of booking for collection and return of gear which can be done anytime Unipol is open.

Terms and conditions of rentals
Rental cost is on a per-day basis.
Hirers may check out multiple items at one time, but are limited to one per type of equipment.
A one-day rental period is the time of pick up (that day) until closing the next day. Exception: bikes must be returned by close on the same day.
Overdue fees amount to the same price as hiring equipment for that time.
I agree to take full responsibility for the hire and usage of the equipment and will return it in the same state as it was hired by the agreed date. If not, I will pay the required replacement cost.
If damage occurs I will notify Unipol and will expect to be charged any necessary repair or replacement costs.
A form of ID must be supplied and photographed for public hire.
By paying for the rental equipment I am agreeing to the terms and conditions.
