The work of the Group

Information Retrieval (IR) & Natural Language Processing (NLP) Research Group focuses mainly on the research areas of Information Retrieval and Computational Linguistics, which together form a basis or foundation for a broad range of applications such as Search Engines, Text Mining Applications, Machine Translation, Question-Answering, Digital Libraries, and Knowledge Management.



Current active research themes include efficiency, retrieval models, distributed information retrieval, information extraction and representation, natural language processing for information retrieval, social media analysis, multimedia indexing and retrieval, document image processing, and eCommerce search.



We are currently looking for excellent students that are interested in pursuing a PHD or Master's in the field of Information Retrieval and Natural Language Processing.
