Charlotte Thompson, Adviser Marketing Services

Charlotte provides marketing advisory services and outputs within the Division of Sciences.

As the primary marketing point of contact for Sciences' departments and schools, she provides advice and support to portfolio leaders and managers that strengthens the strategic and operational marketing endeavours within the Division.

Charlotte works collaboratively with the Marketing Services team and Communications Advisory colleagues to deliver a seamless provision of services for her client portfolio. She also attends and coordinates activities and events on behalf of clients and in conjunction with the Marketing Events team.

Guy Frederick, Communications Adviser

Guy FrederickGuy creates stories and content to communicate the work, research and achievements of staff and students in the Division of Sciences. He has worked as a freelance photographer and writer for New Zealand magazines for two decades, and joined Sciences in 2018 following his completion of a Master’s in Science Communication. Guy’s research and interest in place-based experience is published in the Polar Journal and included a career highlight of visiting Scott Base on the Antarctica NZ’s Community Engagement Programme. He also holds a BComm in Accounting and BSc(Hons) in Geography, specialising in climatology, from Otago.

Angie Hughes, Development Manager

Angie Hughes 2020 imageAs a member of the Development and Alumni Relations Office, Angie ensures the coordination of and support for strategic fundraising projects by working with University of Otago faculty and staff to nurture mutually beneficial relationships with our valued alumni, stakeholders and friends. Through these evolving partnerships students and researchers in the Division of Sciences are able to progress on the multitude of critical concerns facing our local and global community.

Angie comes to the University of Otago with over a decade's experience in post-secondary institutions and non-profits in Australia and Canada and enjoys working with forward-thinking donors, philanthropists and organisations eager to embed enduring positive impact into issues they are passionate about.
