Want to come to Otago but worried how the family will settle?
Staff Families exists to help the partners and children of all newcomers to establish themselves as quickly as possible and make new friends.
For more than 50 years the Otago University Staff Families Association (OUSFA) has worked to make newcomers feel welcome.
Our members have all been through the same upheavals and know what it's like.
Coming to Otago on Sabbatical or for Postgraduate or Postdoctoral Study?
All visitors to the University are welcome to join all our activities, whether here for a few weeks or long stay.
OUSFA also assists the families of postgraduate and postdoctoral students new to Dunedin.
What do we do?
- Meet weekly during the academic year for coffee, company and conversation.
- Organise other events throughout the year for the whole family to join in and meet new friends.
- Organise special interest activities - book group, craft evenings, babysitting.
- Compare notes about local facilities, schools, shops etc with people who already know the ropes.
Let us know you're coming
Let us know you're coming so we can contact you very soon after arrival.
