Research interests

Dr Peyton Bond's primary research interest is gendered labour, particularly in feminised service industries. Affect, commodification, workers' rights, hierarchies, and resistance to neoliberal/capitalist norms are key themes of her work in this area. She uses feminist qualitative methodologies in her research and is especially interested in people's stories of their working lives. She is also interested in post-work imaginaries and wishes to pursue more research in this area, including friendship and camaraderie as resistance to contemporary systems of work. Peyton teaches into sociology, gender studies, and criminology courses and is further interested in prison/police abolition and alternative justice futures.
