Thesis: Women and their experiences after release from prison
Kirsten Gibson is a PhD student in Gender Studies who is researching post-prison experiences. Her research is focusing on those who have been incarcerated in women's prisons in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Originally hailing from Dunedin, Kirsten has spent a large portion of her life In Auckland, the United Kingdom and more recently Wellington where she completed a BA(Hons) and MA in Criminology. Returning to her “roots” she decided to embark on a PhD journey at Otago. She has developed a passion for research that aims to shine a light on the voices of those who are often silenced.
