The Matariki Global Citizenship Programme is an initiative run by the Matariki Network Universities (MNU) that explores the role of universities in global citizenship against the backdrop of complex global and societal challenges.
The Programme serves as an umbrella for a variety of multi-institutional activities in education, research and engagement, and aims to involve people and activities both inside and outside the university.
Global Citizenship explores the implication of good citizenship, community roles, equity and empowerment in a diverse and cross-cultural environment as well as the role of identity and responsibilities in creating an inclusive, authentic and overall multicultural society.
The network currently spans across 7 universities in the US, UK, Sweden, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and welcomes students from any disciplinary to participate in the programme.
