Our ground floor labs feature general use teaching spaces that have movable walls to facilitate different class sizes or particular teaching/research activity requirements. All of these facilities are used extensively throughout the year for both teaching and research activities as well as many community outreach programmes.
It is equipped with some of the most advanced equipment available anywhere in the world to teachers, researchers, and students of physical education, sport and exercise sciences. These include the Flume, an Environmental Control Chamber, the Biomechanics Lab, a Strength Lab and the Exercise Prescription Clinic Gym facility.
We also have two seminar rooms, one seating 60 people and the other 40.
Our main gymnasium is Smithells Gym, named after the school's founder Prof Philip Smithells, is located at 690 Cumberland Street. It has a full sized basketball court as well as floor markings and equipment for badminton, indoor soccer, futsal and netball.
The gymnasium is shared with Recreation Services who utilise the space for a variety of University sports groups/clubs and other activities mainly in the evenings and on weekends when not in use by the School.
