Overview

Student research topics (mostly qualitative) are available focused on how well mental health services are connected or 'joined up' for service users. A survey is underway with mental health staff working in the Southern District Health Board; next year a study focused on service users' perspectives and outcomes will commence.

These projects provide an ideal opportunity for a student researcher to work as part of an established research team (including mental health professionals and mental health consumer advisors), while undertaking specific research on their chosen topic.

Student researchers will need to reside in the Southern region of New Zealand to undertake their research.

Student stipends are not available, however applicants are encouraged to explore the University of Otago's postgraduate scholarships.
