Bachelors' programmes – Chulalongkorn University
Undergraduate study
Please note that Chula's BBA programme in the Business School is quite popular; Chula recommends applying for their Spring semester (where there are more spaces available to accommodate students, compared to their Fall/Autumn semester).
Also note that the Politics and Global Studies programme only accepts 2 students each semester from all the exchange student applications. Their choice is based on students’ GPAs, and acceptance into the programme is not guaranteed.
Taking classes outside a student’s major isn't recommended as Chula prioritises foundational knowledge. While it might be possible for exchange students to take courses outside their host program, they must discuss this with the program co‑ordinator after acceptance.
Postgraduate study
Postgraduate exchange students pursuing a master's degree can only register for a maximum of 6 credits (equivalent to 2 courses). Should students wish to add a course or exceed this limit, Chula requires documentary evidence from the home university to justify the additional courses.
Semester dates
- Academic year: August–May
- Fall term: August–December
- Spring term: January–May
Course load and minimum unit requirements
Maximum course load = 22 credits per semester (approximately 7–8 courses).
Exchange students interested in attending regular programs taught in Thai are required to be fluent in Thai in all four skills – listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
