Language of Instruction
Chinese.
The School of Chinese Studies is the largest base of teaching Chinese as a second language in Northeast China. Since its establishment over 20 years ago, it has trained more than 10,000 international students from many different countries who have come to China to learn about the Chinese language and culture.
Elementary Chinese, Elementary Listening, Elementary Speaking, Elementary Reading, Intermediate Chinese, Intermediate Listening and Speaking, Intermediate Reading, Advanced Chinese, Advanced Spoken Chinese, Advanced Reading, Chinese Culture, Newspaper Reading, Chinese Writing, Translation, etc.
Course Restrictions
This exchange is for students with a Chinese major/minor. International Business students can credit back the language component required for the degree.

The University, City and Region
The University
Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DLUFL) is relocated their main campus to the Eastern slope of Baiying Mountain on Lushun South Road, 30 kms from the city of Dalian.
Established in 1964, DUFL is the only university of foreign languages in Northeast China. Formerly known as Dalian School of Japanese Language, it aimed at training foreign affairs officials, Japanese translators and Japanese interpreters. It is now under the administration of the Education Commission of Liaoning Province. Through 40 years of development, DLUFL has fledged into a multi-disciplinary foreign language university which also offers programs in other fields like arts, economics, management, engineering and law. DLUFL attaches great importance to international exchanges and has established a multiple training model. Altogether over 20,000 students are currently studying at the university, including 700 postgraduates, 10,000 undergraduates and around 900 international students. One of the first institutions offering Chinese major with BA degrees, School of Chinese Studies (SCS) is an important faculty, teaching Chinese Language to international students in China.
The school's research in sinology, led by the Research Institute of sinology, has made many scientific achievements. There are undergraduate programs of specialised subjects in Chinese with two orientations including one in Chinese culture and another in international trade and commerce. Courses and lectures are offered free of charge in Chinese geography, history, folk art, calligraphy, qi gong, boxing, kung fu, bamboo flute, etc.

Dalian is one of China's most vibrant and modern cities. Dalian is located in the southernmost part of the Liaodong Peninsula in Liaoning Province in the northeast of China. With its clean air, beautiful beaches, and pleasant summer climate, Dalian attracts an impressive number of tourists all year round. Impressively, Dalian has been voted the most liveable city in all of China. Dalian has four distinct seasons, a beautiful landscape and enjoys a pleasant climate.
