Information
Established in 2021 by the University of Otago using a bequest from the late Miss Ida G White, the Scholarship is named in memory of her brother, the late Mr James Renfrew White, who was a graduate of the Otago Medical School, Director of Orthopaedic Surgery for the Otago Hospital Board and Lecturer in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Otago from 1920 to 1948.
Applicants must be:
- a 3rd or 5th year student intending to enrol in the Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours degree in a surgical discipline. Preference will be given to students with an Orthopaedic Surgery research topic.
The following factors shall be considered in selecting the scholarship:
- academic performance;
- proposed research topic.
