Mick Strack has been awarded the Innovation in Māori or Pacific Islands Course Content award at the Sciences divisional awards at the beginning of December. This is given for sustained application of new initiatives in the teaching of Māori or Pacific content, something Mick has done consistently throughout his career.
Callum Johns, who has just finished the final year of his BSurv honours degree, has been awarded the 2016 Premier Undergraduate Prize in the Division of Sciences. This prize is awarded to the Division's most outstanding undergraduate or honours student. This is in recognition of his sterling honours dissertation (on testing the viability of low-cost GPS antennae and receivers), his inspiring presence and peerless performance in class, and extracurricular help and tutoring that has benefitted many other students in the degree.
