Governance and Urban Form

With over half the world's population now living in urban environments and expectations for continued growth, it is important to understand what forces contribute most to shaping urban development. With a greater understanding of the societal processes that influence the built form, communities and decision-makers will be able to make better informed choices and more effectively guide future development efforts. The intent of this research is to identify how governance influences, or is expressed, in the built environment.
