Profile
At Te Kura Kairūri I co-manage the Urban Design and Statutory Planning subjects in conjunction with Brae Ihaka-Wingate. I am a past student of the School of Surveying and joined the staff in 2024.
I graduated in time with the Canterbury earthquake sequence and have spent my professional career working in Christchurch. This experience gave me many opportunities and exposure to a number of situations that would not normally be available to a young surveyor. My experience has been mainly in cadastral surveying, with special interest in areas of ground movement. I also carried out a number of surveys to assist the structural engineering assessment of buildings after the earthquakes.
During this time I have always been interested in the changing urban fabric at a time of such flux. My key interest in this space is to understand how to create stronger communities through better housing options.
My interests outside of this space include navigation sports such as Orienteering, Adventure Racing, and Rogaining. I am also passionate about sailing and cycling.
