The Theology Programme is the only university-based theology programme in New Zealand and draws on a rich heritage of over 60 years of theological education.
There are a range of papers and qualifications to choose from – you can add a Theology paper to your degree, or take a minor in Theology.

Diploma in Theology
The Diploma in Theology (DipTheol) is an undergraduate qualification, which enables students to undertake a one-year qualification in Theology. It involves seven 18-point Theology papers. The majority of these papers will be at 100-level, but up to three papers may be taken at 200-level. It can be taken full-time or part-time and is also available through Distance Learning.

Bachelor of Theology
The Bachelor of Theology (BTheol) is a specialist degree that requires three years of full-time (or equivalent in part-time) study, and is also available through Distance Learning.

Bachelor of Theology with Honours (BTheol(Hons)
The Bachelor of Theology with Honours (BTheol(Hons)) is an academically demanding degree which requires one year of full-time study after the completion of a BTheol.
Students can apply for entry to the programme after completing a BTheol degree with satisfactory grades.

You can complete a minor subject for a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Applied Science (BAppSc) or Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degrees.
