A DipGrad (Tourism) is an academically integrated course of study, designed for graduates and others with equivalent qualifications or experience.
The University of Otago now endorses programmes (i.e. with the name of the main subject field), and the Department of Tourism is offering the following course of study for the DipGrad (Tourism).
Information for applicants
This course is suitable for:
- Graduates with an unrelated degree wishing to gain a grounding in tourism (e.g. a Zoology graduate from Otago or a philosophy graduate from the USA).
- Those with a related degree who do not meet the entry requirements for the PGDipBus.
- Those without a degree, but with significant industry experience.
Please get in touch with the DipGrad Director for advice on your options, if you are thinking of doing a DipGrad.
You will then need to complete the online application process to apply for the DipGrad programme and select your papers. This is the usual enrolment process that starts with an online application and ends with a form for course approval. This form needs to be signed by the DipGrad Director.
While the DipGrad requires you to do at least seven papers, of which at least four are at 300-level, not all papers at the University are worth 18 points, so the regulations regarding the DipGrad are given directly in terms of points.
Summary of application process:
- Contact the Director
- Submit an online application form
- When you receive your form for course approval, go to the Director to have it signed.
