International students wishing to live in a flat with New Zealanders can apply for a pre-booked University managed flat. This option is popular for students who are only here for 6 months.
The University managed, furnished flats are very close to campus and of a good standard. A mattress is supplied and a bedding pack is included for all students.
Most of our undergraduate flats also have a New Zealand student living there, called Kiwi Hosts. They are familiar with life at the University of Otago as a student, and help overseas students settle in.
There are a limited number of University Flats available for postgraduate couples and small families. If we are unable to offer you a University Flat you should contact the Student Accommodation Centre who can provide you with lists of available flats as well as assistance to help you find privately owned accommodation that suits your needs.
