The University of Otago English Language Centre welcomes students from all over the world to our classrooms.

We are a member of English New Zealand and are proud to offer quality programmes with some of the best English language teachers in the country.

Our English language programmes

No matter your level of English or future study plans, we have a programme to suit you.

This programme includes listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation, and grammar skills – at different levels – from elementary to advanced.

We offer IELTS preparation courses on-campus.

This programme offers a pathway to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the University of Otago.

This programme aims to help students develop academic skills for tertiary study and independent learning.

Many of our programmes are now available online.

For university groups we offer short-term English tuition combined with an exciting activities programme.

We are a registered test centre for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and the Occupational English Test (OET).
