These scholarships are for students enrolling in the pathway programmes (diplomas and Foundation Studies Certificate).
If you have studied in a New Zealand high school, you can also apply for Otago's Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships, which may be applicable to your pathway studies.

Foundation Studies Certificate programme scholarships for students of Māori or Polynesian descent
The POPO Foundation Scholarship Programme is for Polynesian students and the Ngā Koroī programme is for Māori students.
Both of these programmes are designed to get more Māori and Pacific Islanders in to the professional health services industry.
These students will have comprehensive support in the form of financial assistance, academic support, a strong group focus and a dedicated support person (kaiarahi).

POPO Foundation Scholarship
The POPO Foundation Scholarship is a Health Sciences scholarship dedicated to Pacific students studying the Health Science Foundation Studies Certificate course at Otago.
Ngā Koroī programme scholarship
The University of Otago Ngā Koroī scholarship is a two-semester (from February to October) Health Sciences programme.
Ngā Koroī is run within the Foundation Studies Certificate programme, and prepares Māori students academically for their first year of tertiary study and a future career in Māori health.
As a Ngā Koroī student, you will receive guaranteed accommodation in a Residential College, financial assistance of up to $10,000 towards accommodation costs, and access to additional academic support.
