If this describes you, the EleMent research team invites you to consider joining our research study.

Please note that the definition of a mental health service user is wide ranging; from using community mental health services, to seeing a counselor or seeing a GP for mental health.

Background Information

The aim of this research is to better understand the changing needs of people who use mental health services as they grow older.

You may find that you benefit from participating in our research, because you are able to reflect on your own experiences. You will also be contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of mental health services.

This study has received ethical approval from Central Health and Disability Ethics Committee, and was designed by research staff at the University of Otago.

What data or information will be collected and what use will be made of it?

The survey is anonymous. Information that you share with us will be stored securely and only the study researchers will have access to it. The results of the project may be published but every attempt will be made to preserve your anonymity.
