The Department is a multidisciplinary unit in which the sub disciplines of haematology, microbiology, chemical pathology, anatomical pathology and molecular pathology are represented. It provides resources to staff, students and external users for effective teaching, learning and research.
The Department of Pathology hosts the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences with Honours (BBiomedSc (Hons)) programme which focuses on translational medicine research.
Research
It is dedicated to investigating disease processes to facilitate effective treatments and improve health outcomes.
Undergraduate teaching
The Department provides an undergraduate teaching programme that is based on current concepts of disease processes. It will provide the successful student with a knowledge core upon which to develop clinical competency in the diagnosis and management of disease.
Facilities and services
The department houses a variety of equipment for biological analyses, seminar rooms for hire and offers services in histology.
