Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Health Care (PGCertPHC)
The Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Health Care consists of two core papers:
- PRHC701: New Zealand Primary Health Care (Semester 1)
- PRHC703: Strategy and Leadership in Primary Health Care (Semester 2)
Students are encouraged to complete the certificate first and then enrol for the diploma.

Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Health Care (PGDipPHC)
The Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Health Care consists of two core papers:
- PRHC701: New Zealand Primary Health Care (Semester 1) 30 Points
- PRHC703: Strategy and Leadership in Primary Health Care (Semester 2) 30 points
- and 60 additional points from your choice of elective papers.
With individual application to the Board of Studies in Primary Health Care, other University of Otago papers to the value of 30 points may be considered for inclusion in a programme of study if considered part of a cohesive study plan.
Similarly postgraduate papers to the value of 30 points may also be considered for inclusion from other universities.
