Research Interests and Activities
John is interested in how environmental barriers to more healthy eating can be effectively addressed. Currently he is a PhD candidate undertaking research in the Health Promotion and Policy Research Unit. He is considering front-of-pack nutrition labelling in the context of the trans-Tasman Review of Food Labelling Law and Policy as a case study of political decision making where public health and food industry interests conflict. His supervisors are George Thomson and Louise Signal.
John's related interests are in strategies to address obesity and reduce health inequalities.
