Pasifika Medical & Allied Health Prize
For excellence in scholarship and community service
Recipient: Omar Rasheed
Omar is a final year Radiation Therapy student at UOW. He is of Fijian descent. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Neuroscience). Omar was chosen for this award given his excellent academic record, contributions to Pacific communities and his ongoing support of fellow Pacific students. He is an emerging Pacific clinician who has great potential to make a strong contribution to improving the health of Pacific people.
Pasifika Postgraduate Prize
For excellence in scholarship and research
Recipient: Vilomena Ranadi
Vilomena is a Masters (Medical Science) student in the Department of Pathology & Molecular Medicine at UOW. She is of Fijian descent. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Fiji School of Medicine and has worked as a Senior Medical Officer (Pathology) at the Ministry of Health in Fiji. As a Pacific health leader, she is already making who has made significant contributions to improving the health of Pacific people both in New Zealand and in the Islands.
