Abstract
This project analyses existing video recordings of clinicians and patients in routine primary care consultations from the ARCH corpus and from the One in a Million Archive of Primary Care Consultations recorded by researchers at the University of Bristol. The study investigates how health professionals and patients in the UK and NZ talk about age and ageing, negotiate the various social meanings attached to age and ageing, and how these practices influence mutual understanding and health outcomes.
