Strictly speaking, the http:// and www are no longer required in most instances. However, addresses should be checked and this information included if critically necessary. Secure sites – those beginning with https: – will more than likely require this information to be included.

No full stop is required when ending a sentence with a web address (or email address). Avoid underlining web addresses in print. In general, do not capitalise within a website address (unless the web address functions as a brand name - for example: Outlook.com).
