Feedback

Staff now have the opportunity to provide feedback on the University of Otago Classification Scheme. Our intention is to adapt the scheme, according to the feedback received, to produce a customised version that better represents the university. This could mean:

1. Combining or splitting categories at lower levels;
2. Changing the terminology, such as renaming or redefining terms;
3. Linking or adding related terms;
4. Making additions or amendments to the scope notes, including the addition of examples;
5. Identifying activities that you think are currently not represented in the scheme, and adding them.

Keep in mind what is being done (the activity) and not

• What it is about (the subject);
• Who is doing it (the organisational unit).

Please note that the top two levels in the hierarchy, which show the University's major function and activity areas, are fixed and must remain unchanged, aside from minor terminology changes.
