‘New Zealand’ in Pamaero Library Scrapbook, [1967-70].

One of the advertisements in this ‘New Zealand’ scrapbook reads: ‘this Easter why not try railway travel services? ...they’re good! ...but remember...BOOK EARLY!’ And in the graphically interesting ‘Southerner’ express sheets on display, New Zealand Rail promotes its buffet car, which not only eliminated refreshment stops, but also promised an appealing service of meals and drinks, some served on specially designed crockery. The one-way six hour journey from Dunedin to Christchurch cost travellers $4.90. Alas, these rail-days and prices have long gone.
